PDMU / PATHS

Personal Development and Mutual Understanding (PDMU) is an area of learning which focuses on encouraging children's emotional and social development, confidence, independence, and health and safety awareness, and on developing their moral thinking.

To help our children acheive this we follow the PATHS programme which has been designed by Barnardos. This programme involves children learning about their feelings and emotions, as well as how to deal with these appropriately and teaching them skills which they will need later on in life. The core components of the PATHS programme are;

  •  Self-awareness
  •  Social-awareness
  •  Relationship skills
  •  Self-management
  •  Responsible decision making

You can help your child at home by talking to their children about their feelings and emotions and how we can respond to these.
