P7’s got to take part in a transition programme which focused on making them feel more confident and comfortable as they prepare to move to Year 8. The event took place in Stranmillis University College. The programme focussed on subjects that might be new to the pupils as they move to Secondary Education. We took part in PE, which made us focus on teamwork, communication and goal setting. We tried coding using Micro:bits. We got to test what was a conductor or insulator of electricity in Science. We got to experiment with different products that you’d find in the house to see if they were acid or alkaline. But our favourite subject was design and technology! Here we got to design rockets and test out how far they travelled. We also got to fly drones around an assault course. It was AMAZING!
